The team at School Specialty, working in partnership with the non-profit College Football Playoff Foundation, is giving away a series of classroom makeovers to teachers of Atlanta, GA. During the upcoming Extra Yard for Teachers Summit on January 6, in Atlanta, attendees will have a chance at winning a drawing for one of the three remaining 21st Century Safe School classroom makeovers planned for 2018.
Extra Yard for Teachers Summit 2018
On the weekend of the College Football Playoff National Championship, the Extra Yard for Teachers Summit is held as a way to inspire and empower teachers. This year the championship host city of Atlanta will be home to both the big game and the Summit. Deserving Atlanta Public School teachers from across the area will gather to listen to speakers, participate in workshops, and be recognized for the hard work they put into educating future generations.
This year’s summit will also feature a School Specialty informational booth along with two motivating workshops conducted by industry experts. The first workshop, presented by 21st Century Safe School expert Dr. Peggy Mitchell Clarke, covers stress management, burnout prevention, and self care, and the second speaker, Dr. Kenneth Wesson, will offer insight into the development of early literacy through active learning experiences.
School Specialty Classroom Makeovers
Before the Extra Yard for Teachers Summit, School Specialty will have successfully completed two classroom makeovers supporting SSI Guardian’s 21st Century Safe School objectives that prioritize the social, emotional, and physical well-being of students. The makeovers provide essential supplies, curriculum materials, furniture, and security upgrades to promote learning experiences that inspire students. In recognition of the deserving Atlanta Public School teachers, School Specialty has committed to giving away three additional classroom makeovers in 2018, the winners of which will be chosen at the Extra Yard for Teachers Summit.
